BRIDPORT PRIZE ANTHOLOGY 2019
EXTRACTS FROM THE NOVEL LONG-LIST
JUDGE: Naomi Wood
Writing a novel is like running a marathon, no matter what everyone tells you, it’s best to go at your own pace. For those who cross the finish line,
the next step is, now what? That’s where we come in. The Bridport Prize is the flagship of Dorset’s Bridport Arts Centre and it began back in 1973. Almost fifty years later, it has grown into one of the most sought after writing prizes, attracting authors from across the globe.
In 2014, The Peggy Chapman Andrews First Novel Award was established in honour of the Bridport Prize founder. It is run with
commitment and in partnership with A.M. Heath Literary Agency, Tinder Press and The Literary Consultancy.
This is the first Novel Long-List Anthology.
